When first published, this landmark book went through three printings as churches of many denominations found it to be an excellent guide not only for new members coming into the church, but also for long-time members who wish to have their faith reinforced and renewed.

John R. Brokhoff has earned degrees from Muhlenberg College, the University of Pennsylvania, and Philadelphia Lutheran Seminary. Dr. Brokhoff served churches in Georgia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Florida before becoming Professor of Homiletics at Candler School of Theology, Emory University, Atlanta, where he served from 1965 until 1980. He is the author of 37 books, most published by CSS Publishing Company.
