Stories from the mean streets of Los Angelos of people who are homeless as seen through the eyes of a young mother who is called to minister to them.

Father Maurice Chase, a Catholic priest and Skid Row Activist says, ''I???m dazzled by the beauty and sincerity of this stunning, lovely book. I applaud the author'' honesty and goodness, which shine throughout. I hope and pray it impacts millions.''

This is a book which takes the reader on a journey into the lives of actual people who happen to be homeless. Some of the stories have happy endings while some do not. As anyone working with the homeless will point out, we minister to the homeless because it is what Jesus would do. And in the faces of the homeless we see the face and love of Christ.

The story begins with a young homemaker who is talked into dishing gravy at a Los Angelos area homeless shelter. As she works the line she is gripped by the people she is serving and begins to see those she serves through the eyes of God. She finds herself drawn to the people in the shelter and returns each day. First she is ministering to them but soon finds a greater gift as the homeless minister to her.

Through moving and intimate stories, the reader is introduced to those in the shelter and learns about their journeys.

Lori Gonzalez is an author and mother of three living in Southern California. An advocate for the homeless, she works with and ministers to those who live on the streets and frequent the shelters.
