Sherer, pastor of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Washburn, Iowa, is a native of Detroit, Michigan, and a graduate of Wartburg College, Waverly, Iowa, and the Wartburg Theological seminary, Dubuque, Iowa. Previously, Pastor Sherer served St. John Church, Luana, Iowa, and First Church, Maquoketa, Iowa. He has written articles in many national denominational magazines and spends his hobby time at tennis, cycling, travel, and studying history. He is married to the former Kathe Luise Mensing, of Waverly, Iowa, and they are the parents of Heidi Luise and Wendy Sue.
