Easter Sunrise Service for Youth

All: Praise be to God, and to Christ the Son, our Risen Lord, and to the Holy Spirit, who affirms our faith in the Risen Christ!

We Love To Tell The Story is an Easter sunrise service written for youth to present. Its emphasis is a scriptural choral reading. Texts are from Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Suggested Easter hymns are placed throughout the service.

"As the youth performed this very scriptural choral reading for Easter sunrise service, they were able to tell the Easter story just as it is found in the Bible, and their parents and friends were able to participate in this story in a most delightful way," writes Joann Hary, of her experience directing the first production. "Surely this must have put joy in God's heart too."

The service can be presented by as few as six youth or as many as needed. It may be used as a community production or by an individual congregation.

Joann H. Hary, Lamont, Iowa, is the pastor of the United Methodist Churches in Lamont and Aurora, Iowa. Prior to becoming a pastor she spent 17 years teaching high school speech, drama, and language arts.
