Rev. Timothy W. Ayers recently pastored a small church in western New York. It was his first time working with a smaller body of Christians. After planting churches and working with several larger congregations, he felt the call to minister in a completely different setting. He learned a lot about the limitations of a small congregation. Tim merged two of his past literary mediums of short plays for contemporary churches and children's literature. He combined the styles of his short plays, Living Parables, written to illustrate the Sunday service messages (published by CSS Publishing), and his middle reader series, Spinechillers Mysteries. From these two loves came Five Little Christmas Dramas for Today's Kids. It is Ayers' desire that churches around the world can tell this marvelous story of the birth of our Savior through relevant, fun, and easy-to-produce holiday plays.

The Rev. Dr. Roger E. Timm retired in 2011 after serving eleven years as pastor of Ascension Lutheran Church (ELCA) in Riverside, Illinois. From January 1993 to November 2000 he was pastor of St. James Lutheran Church, Naperville, Illinois. Timm served in various campus ministry positions from 1973 to 1992 at Carthage College, Kenosha, Wisconsin; Muhlenberg College, Allentown, Pennsylvania; University Lutheran Chapel at UCLA; and Concordia College, Bronxville, New York. Timm's first pastorate was at St. John-Concordia Lutheran Church in the south Bronx, New York, from 1970-1973. He received his M.Div. degree from Concordia Seminary and an M.A. in philosophy from Washington University, both in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1970. Timm received a Ph.D. in religious studies from Union Theological Seminary and Columbia University, New York, in 1975. Pastor Timm and his wife Marilyn have two adult daughters and two grandchildren.

Janet Burton is a pastor's wife, minister of education, and writer of Christian worship and education resources. The Burtons, who have served churches in Texas and New Mexico for almost 50 years, reside in Austin, Texas, where her husband Jack serves as an interim pastor for churches in transition. Author of four books and a contributor to five others, Mrs. Burton's specialty is Sunday School Bible study curriculum. In addition, she has contributed weekly or monthly columns to three Christian newspapers. Burton attended Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois, and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.

Rolf Svanoe is an associate pastor of Peace Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He has also pastored several congregations in Wisconsin. He has earned degrees from Augustana College (Sioux Falls, South Dakota), as well as Luther Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota.
