About the Authors

Keith Hewitt is a pastor and occasional speaker at Christian events. He is the author of three volumes of plays and has written stories for StoryShare (a component of SermonSuite.com) for many years. He lives in southeastern Wisconsin with his wife, two children, and assorted dogs and cats.

David O. Bales was a Presbyterian pastor for 33 years. He formerly taught Greek as well as World Religions, Biblical Hebrew, and Ethics. His stories, sermons, and articles have been widely published in periodicals and books. Bales is a graduate of the University of Portland and San Francisco Theological Seminary.

Rev. Derl Keefer pastored in the Church of the Nazarene for over 30 years. He currently serves as the Adult Development Ministries Coordinator for the Sunday School Ministries department at the Church of the Nazarene Global Ministry Center. He received his B.A. in Religion from Southern Nazarene University and his M.Div from Nazarene Theological Seminary. His other books include Let's Get Committed, Wedding Sermons and Marriage Ceremonies, and Open Doors.

Schuyler Rhodes is the pastor of Temple United Methodist Church in San Francisco, California. Rhodes' commitment to social justice and peace has taken him around the globe. A prolific writer, Rhodes is an honors graduate of Drew University Theological School (M.Div.) and the State University of New York at Potsdam (B.A.).

Dave Zuchelli was a pastor in the United Methodist Church for 37 years. The author of several books, including The Last Wedding (2015) and Sermons for the Harried Preacher (2016), he earned his Master of Divinity from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. He and his wife Denise live in Virginia.

Richard A. Hasler is graduate of Princeton Theological Seminary (M.Div.). In over fifty years of ordained ministry, Hasler pastored Presbyterian and UCC congregations in New Jersey, Connecticut, New York, and Ohio. He lives in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, with his wife.

Mary Austin is Pastor and Head of Staff at Westminster Church of Detroit. Her M.Div. is from Princeton Theological Seminary. She is also a regular contributor to The Immediate Word (a component of SermonSuite.com). Austin's previous work can be found in several blogs, and previous publications such as Call to Worship, a publication of the Presbyterian Church (USA), and Bereavement Magazine.

Mark Ellingsen, an ELCA pastor, has been a professor of Church History at the Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta, Georgia, since 1993. He has authored eighteen books. He and his wife have three grown children. When he is not writing or teaching, Ellingsen enjoys discussing politics, sports, and playing guitar.
